Faster prints with deeper colour from the new Citizen OP900ii

July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Citizen has launched a new dye sublimation printer aimed at the professional photography and event market that delivers high quality prints up to 50% faster than competing models.  The Citizen OP900ii prints photographs with a depth of colour and permanency that meets the needs of commercial photographers who want to sell prints on-site at theme parks or unique events such as weddings, graduations and sport events. The powerful print engine and electronics of the unit, incorporating a double buffer, enables the output of these rich, colourfast prints in as little as eight seconds.

The dye sublimation method offers the high quality colour output of an inkjet printer but with better definition, while the overcoat provided by the OP900ii delivers an instantly dry, UV-resistant print with the permanency to match that of a conventional lab print.  And with media capacity of up to 600 sheets per roll of media, the OP900ii can go on delivering fast, quality prints for long periods without interruption.

The impressive print quality offered by the OP900ii is the result of some innovative Citizen technology, such as the capability of the printer to moderate the heat of the print head.  In some printers the overheating of the print head, which typically occurs after the printing of a busy line, can result in the subsequent line being printed too heavily but the OP900ii automatically adjusts power applied during each colour pass to optimise consistency.

The unit is up to 20% smaller than competing models and convenience is further enhanced by a design that allows front access for all functions, including a drop-down front door that enables a change of paper or ribbon in seconds.  The OP900ii produces prints at full bleed (or with borders) with either matt or gloss finish and is sold with standard ribbon and paper pack to enable instant usage.

The printer is compatible with Windows 7 32- and 64-bit drivers, allowing the maximum number of photographers to take advantage of the OP900ii.  For those using the OP900 and looking to upgrade, this task is made easier by the fact that the OP900ii has been designed to accommodate the same media sizes.
