Chatham launches UK first at MODA

July 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Chatham’s innovative use of the material makes it the first sail cloth deck shoe for the British market.

Chatham has designed four styles using Contender sail cloth, two for men – Fibercon and Contender – and two for women – Elysse and Beam. Sail cloth is a tough compound that handles well. It’s an exceptionally lightweight, water resistant and durable material, making it the perfect textile for use in deck shoes. All styles are built on the sole kit used for the successful Schooner and Sloop deck shoes launched last year.

Contender – the world leading sail cloth maker – is an Anglo/Dutch company, founded in 1986, whose woven sail cloth has been chosen by Chatham because it uses only the highest quality Dacron and polyester yarns, which have been carefully selected for their strength, UV resistance and flex characteristics.

Featuring Chatham’s unique two year guarantee, the new G2 sail cloth styles for men include the Fibercon G2 (RRP £89.00), a men’s deck shoe with a modern twist, as it has a lower profile and a more ‘sneaker’ style look, and the Contender G2 (RRP £69.00), a more traditionally styled deck shoe. All are lace-ups and come in navy and white. For women there’s Elysse G2 (RRP £79.00), a traditional lace up style deck shoe and Beam G2 (RRP £69.00), a feminine ballet pump boat shoe.

All of the sail cloth deck shoes have razor cut, non-marking soles and innovative suction pads, which ensures exceptional on-deck grip and the padded foam footbeds provide unparalleled comfort from day one.
