PRLog -- Beckey Berry grew up as an only child in Atlanta, Texas in an extremely close family. When her father passed away after a 2 year struggle with bladder cancer, Beckey had to struggle with how to deal with the loss of a parent as an adult child. The book entitled “Finding Peace After the Loss of a Parent” is written as a memorial to her father.
“I wanted to write down my thoughts about my Dad’s cancer battle, his treatments and the feelings that I was going through,” says Beckey. “It grew from being more than just therapy to something I wanted to share with my mother, my kids and others.” Beckey decided to self publish the book through Amazon.com in hopes that others will glean comfort in knowing that they are not alone during the loss of their parent or loved one.
Beckey found it a real struggle over the year and a half it took to complete the book. “There were days that I could only write 2 sentences a day because I would just be crying too much to do more. It is still very fresh in my memory and I know that it will always be.”
“Finding Peace After the Loss of a Parent” tells the experience of a daughter desperately struggling to find as many ways as possible to help her father survive his cancer. When the decision was made to not seek out other means to make him better the sorrow and anger sets in. Her father’s words and some devotionals that he wrote are spread throughout the book.
