Follow on Google News | Quiz night raises more than £2,000 for local children’s charityA TEAM from Nat West Commercial saw off all-comers to scoop the coveted Collier Trophy at the NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group summer quiz.
By: NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group But, of course, the real winner was the charity which saw around £2,300 added to its coffers from the event. The quiz is now a regular fixture on the Group’s calendar. This year 28 teams of six from a host of companies in and around Peterborough answered questions on everything from sport to the royal family and the weather at the city’s Holiday Inn West. The event was organised by Tony Green and Mick Woods, both from Perkins Engines. Tony said: “We were delighted to raise so much money for such a good cause. As usual the support from so many businesses was much appreciated and helped boost it to a record total for this event.” • Group chairman Chris Collier received cheques on the night on behalf of the charity from Mark Knight, operations manager of the Holiday Inn West which has raised £500 over the last four months and Nick Markillie who donated £500 following an annual golf day in memory of his son Daniel. • Chris also presented Tony Green with an award from the NSPCC marking his years of dedication and commitment to the charity.
