The Affordable Care Act Raises Questions Concerning Affordable Eye Care Online

For East Main Vision Clinic, it's a natural progression to create a service that allows customers to shop for America's best eyeglasses online. There's just one question, though; exactly how much should it cost for that level of ease and convenience?

July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- PUYALLUP, WA. ---  As the country enters what will likely be a lengthy debate on the right to affordable health care, the cost of services throughout the health industry will be up for review for providers of all kinds of care. So, how does one ascertain what the people of this country can afford for health services? The solution for Dr. Joseph Day, Optometrist at East Main Vision Clinic, is a modern one – create an online survey.

In exchange for this valued information, respondents to the survey are entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift card from Amazon.  To complete the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BrightDayz.

EMVC’s “Eyes to You” is a new online service which allows patients throughout the Pacific Northwest to shop and buy prescription eyewear, easily and securely, at their convenience without sacrificing quality or excellent customer service.  “Eyes to You” patients get quality ophthalmic lenses, and have a variety of eyeglass and sunglass frame shapes, sizes and types—including high-end designer frames, for adults and children, from which to choose.

For the tech savvy shopper, this program has everything.
Vision needs can be met via the internet through the simple and fun web interface included in “Eyes to You”—especially with its online “try before you buy” virtual feature. While on EMVC’s “Eyes to You” site, a shopper can “try on” frames by uploading his or her photo and clicking on a frame of choice.

“Eyes to You” offers another option: Online shoppers can have frames without lenses sent to them so they can spend a few days trying them on before making a final purchase. It’s simple: Pick out 5 or less frames and EMVC ships the try-on frames for free to the patient. Then, the patient sends back the try-on frames to EMVC using the pre-paid shipping package provided for the return.

Completing the order is just as simple as the shopping. There are several different ways to pay, and many insurance plans are accepted. For added convenience, EMVC can bill patients’ insurance providers directly.

From there, EMVC’s skilled technicians personally review and verify each order and the corresponding prescription. Orders are processed at EMVC’s trusted lens manufacturer. Before being shipped to the patient, eyewear is inspected for quality assurance.

"Eyes to You" is a state-of-the-art program that will benefit eyeglass shoppers who are tech savvy and/or in need of the option to shop from home. The Puyallup, WA.- based EMVC, led by long-time optometric physician Dr. Joseph Day, began offering “Eyes to You” online service, on a trial basis, on Feb. 8, 2012 along with its traditional services.
"In keeping with our dedication to quality eye care at an affordable price, EMVC plans to make "Eyes to You" make sense for the consumer," said Day. "Participation in the online survey will help us greatly toward that end. We hope to hear from everyone and anyone who would like to have access to this online service."

For years, EMVC’s clinic has been full-service, serving patients throughout the Pacific Northwest in a professional and caring environment with state-of-the art equipment and technology.
