June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Get to know Major Green.
Take a seat and get into the mind of this talented young artist.

Q.

How old are you?

A.

25

Q.

Where are you from?

A.

I am originally from Pittsboro NC

Q.

What type of artist do you classify yourself as?

A.

I would classify myself as a Hip Hop, Pop, and R&B artist.

Q.

When did you first begin to take yourself seriously as an artist?

A.

I think my passion for my craft peaked in 2008. I began to work on my music more seriously and was actually able to see it as a potential means of a source of income. Its one thing to know that you have a certain kind of ability….It’s an entirely different entity when people outside of yourself begin to refer to you as an artist. My passion for creating good music has grown over the course of time. I am still in the process of growing….developing what I term as my favor. I write all my own lyrics. I arrange, mix and master my music as well. I am very particular about the end result. I have a genuine interest in life and I tend to write about what I have seen, thought, heard or experienced. I write about things that interest me and I transform those things into music.

Q.

Do you offer the services….arranging, mixing, and mastering music to the general population?

A.

I do. My Company is called Major Green Productions. If an artist is interested in having me work on their album the first thing I do is listen to their sound. If it is one that I am interested in I will go all in and make it as hot as it can be. I don’t like to attach my name to all things. It’s about finding the proper fit.

Q.

What has been the high point in your career thus far?

A.

Growing and being able to see that growth. Pursuing my craft has enabled me to interact with some extremely credible and talented people. I am a firm believer that if you surround yourself with the right people….the ones who bring out the best in themselves and foster a desire to bring out the best in others, only goodness will follow.

Q.

So what do you have going on now?

A.

I am a contestant on “Making the Next Hit”, an online documentary where singers and rappers collaborate to make a hit record. (Season 1 was hosted by Lil Wayne, Jagged Edge, and others) Season 3, is being hosted by DJ Farenheit of CTE who just so happens to be Young Jeezy’s DJ, the host of Season 2. All episodes will air on www.thenext.tv . The show will also be shopped to MTV, VH1, & Comedy Central.

The grand prize is a $250,000 recording deal or a $100,000 production deal from IMG/Universal Records. Other prizes include:

-Performance at the Tupac Shakur Center for the Arts during BET Hip-Hop Awards weekend 2012

-Performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards After-Party 2012

-All expense paid trip to Las Vegas, NV

-Studio Session with Slick Pulla of CTE and/or Bone Crusher

-Opening Performance for Slick Pulla of CTE and/or Bone Crusher

-Song Feature with of CTE and/or Bone Crusher

I will heading to Charlotte, NC on Monday, July 2, 2012 for Round Three of the competition. (655 Pressley Rd. Suite E Charlotte, NC 28217)

This is something entirely new to me. All artists will be placed in groups and expected to collaborate and make a hit record. The artists with the TOP 5 SCORES OVERALL  will be placed in a group with CTE’s own Slick Pulla. Slick Pulla will work with the TOP 5 artists to create a song. There is a host of talent representing Raleigh, NC. I will be working with the likes of Alexis Jones, Chona Lucky 7, Dizi Johnson, Jersey Live, Keh Keh Diamondz, Lyla, Man Show, SincereTheGeneral, and Twizzi Trap. This has the potential to be a major opportunity and I am excited tom be a part of it. I will also be performing Live at Robin Mills’s “The Platform” at Betdeez located at 2245 Grove Barton Road in Raleigh as a Special Guest Performer on July 13, 2012.

Q.

Are you available for booking?

A.

Yes I am. I can be contacted at Jabre.green@gmail.com  for all booking inquiries.

Q.

If you were placed in a position where you could speak to the masses and bestow 3 jewels upon them….thing that that would make mankind a better situation, what three things would you share?

A.

I would tell the people:

1. Put God First. Place your gratitude and the things that you cannot control in God’s hands and understand the fact that what you go through are the makings of who you are. Embrace the good time as well as the bad. There could be no flowers without an occasional rain.

2. Be real. Be who you are all the time. If people spent more time being their own authentic self, I feel the world would be a better and less confusing place.  Being real involves letting your words and actions represent the person you want to be known as. Sometime people say they want one thing…but their words and actions say different.

3. Have realistic expectations as you pursue your dreams. Know your strengths as well as your weaknesses. Always have a list of things that need to be repaired as it relates to what it is that you want to do. Accept advice and help when it is offered. Form a team that is there for the sole purpose of growing. Know when to leave a situation alone and recognize an opportunity for what it is and always strive to make the best of it.
