JAMCKA FEST is a multi-cultural music fusion event and will also commemorate the celebration of Canada Day. JAMCKA FEST 2012 has gathered various artists who believe in the cause and to make a difference in the social issues of Jamaica and the world. The lineup of artists include Jimmy Riley, Anthony Cruz, Tasha T, Brian Hart, Ataru, Anthony Green, Singer J., Bescenta, Jahmeekye, KKyan, The Star Sisters and a host of others who will be performing during the festival. Mr. Anthony Phills, a native of Trinidad, main purpose in co-sponsoring JAMCKA FEST is to bring social awareness to causes not just in Jamaica but throughout the Caribbean. “Early childhood education and other social and economic issues that affect the natives of the Caribbean islands are extremely important to me. Even thou the Caribbean islands are a major tourist attraction they are exposed by the convergence of weak economies and are heavily dependent on foreign imports. I believe that we can help the Caribbean islands and build the economy from within,” states Mr. Phills. He is currently leading a team to change the way commerce is handled in the Caribbean.
