June 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Since its debut at Vauxhall Fashion Scout in September 2011, Ubuntu International Project has successfully elevated the international careers of fashion designers from across the African continent. Fashion designers from South Africa to Nigeria have over the last 12 months delivered a collective that showcases and identifies a unique Pan African design signature that is in creative process, translatable in an international fashion market.

At Vauxhall Fashion Scout in February 2012, Ubuntu International Project once again had the eyes of the fashion world fixed to its collections. A showcase which sets the tone for design from the African continent now has the attention of celebrities, luxury brands and government organisations alike.

In the first quarter of 2012, Theo Omambala departed from Ubuntu International Project in pursuit of a vision of her own. Looking to the future of Ubuntu International Project, its founder and managing director, Errol Hendrickse, is excited about the direction of the project: “Our vision is to remain serious about creating a global platform for our designers. Ubuntu International Project is about more than just an aesthetic or fashion, it is a value. We vowed to live by the ubuntu philosophy and we will continue to make this evident in our work”.

Ubuntu International Project and its team are currently working on a new approach to its showcases which will be revealed later this year.

Ubuntu International Project expressed gratitude to its designers and supporters for its belief in the vision of the project. Ubuntu International Project will continue to enrich, enhance and create emerging design from across South Africa and beyond. “Ubuntu International Project is now an established brand, a force to be reckoned with in the industry. We look forward to our visit to South Africa over the coming weeks to meet and select designers for future London showcases”, Errol Hendrickse said.

A spokesperson for Ubuntu International Project today also wished Theo Omambala well with her future and announced: “Miss Omambala is no longer working with Ubuntu International Project and her newly launched organisation is not affiliated with us. We would like to make this clear to ensure our audiences do not confuse Miss Omambala’s contribution to Ubuntu International Project with her current work”.
