June 27, 2012 - PRLog -- REGIONAL developer Linden Homes was on the touchline to support youngsters during an inaugural football tournament in the Home Counties.

Derwent Lower FC staged its first ever tournament at the weekend, attracting not only schoolchildren from reception, Years 2,3 and 4 – but also 22 local teams affiliated to either the Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire FA.

Despite dodging the rain, the event was a huge success, raising funds for the club to enable them to buy kit and equipment and reduce weekly subs costs.

And among the spectators during the morning was Bedford-born ex-England International Andrew Johnson, who has just signed for QPR, marking something of a coup for the event.

Regional developer Linden Homes – whose prestigious Fairfield Park development is located on the Beds/Herts border – were among the companies to sponsor the event, donating £100 along with branded umbrellas and reflective wristbands.

Linden Homes area sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “It was a great event to be involved with, particularly for a company like ourselves which is very supportive of community events.
“Our congratulations to the players and all the organisers.”
