Tom Gray set to release “Anywhere” to a worldwide audience.

June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Tom Gray (aka Thomas Dangerfield) is a multi-talented songwriter, singer and musician.  This CD came to fruition due to the collaborative efforts of friends, acquaintances and professionals who elevated the overall sound and effect.

“Anywhere” is also the title of the single that sets the tone for this entire project.  To the artist the significance of the single is best-described by his own words: “Anywhere but here with anyone but you - anything but this - any words but the truth”.  It is the act of stepping away from reality as you search for true justice in your own heart.  Listening to the words of this song is therapeutic and thought provoking.  Sung in a soft whisper with minimal external distractions, it delivers a profound impact.  It touches you heart and your soul.  

The entire CD is full of layers upon layers of intellectual textures of grand gestures and small ones.  His storytelling is unique and backed by great musical arrangements that bring forward a powerful message.  The listener needs to be in the moment and distraction free to gain maximum effect of the lessons that Tom Gray teaches us.

“The structure is very typical.  I work in a traditional pop structure, but with some folk influences.  I like how Tom Waits’ lyrics aren’t afraid to tell a story that doesn’t serve the facts, but serves the emotion.  I like how Bob Dylan presents an idea, transitions the listener from the easy interpretation of that idea to a more profound and complex interpretation.  Then he re-presents the idea at the end to see if it means anything different to you now.  I like how Sarah McLachlan writes complex songs with simple, approachable lines.  Those are goals I have for all of my songs”.

Prior to “Anywhere”, Tom Gray released “Pianoforte”, an all-piano instrumental project.
Tom Gray’s compositions are popular among choreographers and filmmakers.  He has had great response from a wide range of listeners and many world premier dance pieces have been set to the music on the piano CD.
