Can Reishi help with chemotherapy?  A new Chinese study suggests that while Reishi cannot reduce the size of tumors on its own, it sure can boost the results of traditional cancer therapies such as chemo- or radiotherapies. If patients used Reishi in connection with those therapies, their response was 27% higher than without Reishi. In addition, their quality of life was enhanced as well.

Medicinal mushrooms may help with weight loss as well.  According to a new animal study, conducted in the University Paris Diderot in Paris, France, animals that were fed Agaricus Blazei Murill medicinal mushroom extract for 20 weeks were able to fight the negative consequences of eating a high fat diet.

Rats who ate Agaricus Blazei Murill mushroom extract gained less weight and the other obesity/diet related disorders were less severe.
