How do FYRLYT Driving lights compare to other brands?

We often receive phone calls or emails from FYRLYT owners. Below are a few of these with a common thread of they having used other brands of lights including HID's. User opinion is what counts particularly when FYRLYT is challenging the status quo.

Hi, I just got back from finally testing my new Fyrlyts, these are seriously impressive. The brightness is awesome and I was very surprised at the distance of their reach. This is not something you can accurately describe with words and tho` I`ve seen the pics and video they really don`t do justice, you really do have to see these lights for yourself. Tonight I`ve only had about 10 mins with them in the area I was in, so I`m really looking forward to getting away next week and doing some more driving with them. Thank you once again Fyrlyt, I am very impressed with your excellent product. I hope to organize some HD video while I`m away, I`ll let you know how that works out, cheers guys !"

"I've had my new Fyrlyt 150 watt driving lights for a few weeks now, and all I can say is there is no turning back, I've had numerous lights on my 4x4 and none of them match up to the outstanding performance from the Fyrlyt. I highly recommend these driving lights to any 4x4 fanatic out there in the market for driving lights, you'll never buy another brand."

I recently purchased a pair of Fyrlyt driving lights to fit to our mine vehicle.

Working in a mining situation we often spend a lot of time traversing terrain in darkness, including Highways and Dirt tracks. In the past our vehicles have ran a couple of the other known brands - Hella 4000s and Lightforce 170s.

Due to the constant vibration from the terrain we traverse the vehicle managed to completely snap the mount off of a Hella and partially crack the other unit - necessitating replacement.

After speaking with Paul and the guys at Fyrlyt a set of 5000 lumen units was purchased and installed.

The vehicle was driven out to a quiet, station track on a moonless night and the lights correctly aligned as dual spots. Once they were aligned and tightened down, the passenger side light was adjusted to Spread pattern. A task easily done by a simple twist of the rear bulb holder.

This simple feature is brilliant (pardon the pun) - the ease with which the lights pattern was so easily adjusted would certainly allow for simple changes to suit the terrain being driven.
For long road driving (highway) a simple twist to spot setting and you are given ample lighting to see local fauna. For tight, twisting tracks, another quick twist and you have a wall of light in front of you, illuminating the edges and the centre of your trajectory.

For my use, I decided to run a combination Spot / Spread combo. It was then into the vehicle for some driving to see just how these 8" units performed...

Immediately it became apparent just how good these lights are. In a word, their performance is stunning.

These are some of my observations:

- No vibration on rough tracks - These things are SOLID with a capital "S"

- There are no 'hot spots' - The light is distributed evenly across the area.  You dont find your eyes locking in on the bright 'dot' down the road.

- The pair together provide a 'wall' of light, merging into one another and providing a complete filling of the panorama in front of you.  There are no obvious circles of light.
The cut-off isnt sharp, nor abrupt, the light flows out in front of the vehicle.

- Glare is reduced, whilst they certainly to light up highway signage from a long distance away - they do not suffer from the excessive Blue/White glare that a HID product does.  When I ran HIDs I was forever dipping as I approached highway signs to reduce the glare I was experiencing.

- They really are "brighter" than HIDs.  And cover a much more effective area.  I have ran HIDs for years - using multiple pairs of lights in an attempt to get a solid flood of light into the driving area.

These Fyrlyts are so effective and bright that I personally have purchased a pair to replace the multitude of lights on my personal vehicle. This has reduced my fuel consumption as I no longer have the drag if multiple pairs of lights on the front of my vehicle.

- No warm up time - Being Halogen they are instantly on at full brightness - I recently spoke to a Truck driver who struck 2 Kangaroos that he didnt see whilst his HID spot lights were coming back up.  He is now purchasing Fyrlyts on my recommendation.

- Reduced eyestrain, Noticably reduced eye strain due to more even quality light distribution.

Overall I am totally impressed with these lights, and will be looking to purchase more for our other vehicles in the future.  Including my wife and sons 4 wheel drives.

“This are simply the best and highest quality lights you can buy period... They have amazing light output that turns night into day at a fraction of the cost of HID. These are nick named the HID killers for a very good reason. They also have superb build quality, and amazing customer service from a company that believes in their product and will bend over backwards to help you in any way possible. They also have a simple switch on the back to change from flood beam to spot with the turn of a switch. You have to see them to believe it, these lights can save your life!”
