New York, Prepare to Sip Siamroot

With her sexy, wild hair and unique, almost eerie, vocal style, New York will be the first to taste the dark, idiosyncratic Kate Borkowski.

June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Seattle based Singer/Songwriter, Kate Borkowski is scheduled to showcase her debut album, 'Beautiful Little Fools', for the first time at DROM NYC on Saturday, 6/23/12. With her sexy, wild hair and unique, almost eerie, vocal style, New York will be the first to taste the dark, idiosyncratic Kate Borkowski.

The moody atmosphere within Borkowski's songs is exemplified in the bewitching vocal performance of 'Siamroot'. In 'Siamroot' (which is an anagram of Tori Amos' name), Borkowski investigates the cyclical nature of a volatile relationship and an almost Absinthian retreat from life into the landscape of Amos' songs. Moving effortlessly
from its dark, sensual beginnings to the striking electric guitar work expected from a rock anthem, 'Siamroot' proves a stunning effort in its own right, and no small gift to offer a woman who has proven so inspiring.

Borkowski has said of Amos that she has been a needed reminder that there is a place for
the intellectual woman who writes edgy, abstract, and allusion-filled songs within an
industry too often inundated by clichés and demure women.

The talented singer/songwriter, with her haunting voice and elusive lyrics, will be supported
on stage at DROM NYC by the supremely talented Jon Evans (bass, Tori Amos) and Steve Holloway (drums, Riverdance).

Advance tickets are $10 and available through Ticketfly. At the door, tickets will be $15.
The venue has limited seating and reservations are encouraged. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:15pm.
