June 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Ted Irving, one of the top 3 winners of the 2011 Comcast Project Open Voice contest has come a long way from being a news video editor, sports photographer and high school digital media instructor.

Ted was awarded funds by Comcast to develop an iPhone and iPad APP that would be used as a tool to promote http://www.houstonsvoice.com, a website showcasing the content of Houston based movie, TV and new media producers, called Content Providers.

Users of the free Stinger APP developed by Ted can find their favorite program, record a 5 to 10 second Stinger utilizing the iPhone & iPads built in video camera, and submit it to the site where it is used by Houston’s Voice as a pop-up, preroll & post roll  promotional tool. It is essentially a new, modern, word-of-mouth tool for the marketing of HoustonsVoice.com, a powerful hyper local platform to help Houston communities connect.  Watch the Stinger YouTube Intro at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtu85ofWTHY&feature=youtu.be

Houston Mayor Annise Parker in partnership with Comcast announced the launch of Houston's Voice during a City Hall press briefing at 10 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012.
