Banking Conglomerate JN Data Selects RES Software to Overhaul IT Infrastructure

RES Software will be key to facilitating the migration to improved support for physical and Citrix XenDesktop virtual desktops, incorporating mobile and fixed devices

May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Frimley, UK – 29th May 2012 — RES Software, the proven leader in dynamic desktop solutions, has been selected by JN Data A/S to provide dynamic desktop solutions for its Future Decentral Infrastructure (FDI) project. The purpose of FDI is to lower costs associated with a hybrid environment, consisting of a mix of physical and virtual desktops. The first centrally managed workspaces powered by Citrix XenDesktop and RES Workspace Manager will go live in the summer of 2012, and the project is scheduled for completion in 2013.

RES Software was appointed after a thorough vendor selection process, which included meeting more than 70 different criteria, as it demonstrated the greatest insight into how to accommodate centrally managed and secure dynamic desktops within a hybrid physical and virtual desktop infrastructure. RES Software was also able to offer JN Data the technology to build a corporate ‘app store’, which offered greater options and flexibility.

“Due to the scale of this operation, we set the selection criteria incredibly high as we needed to be completely satisfied that the vendor we chose could handle the project,” said Mikkel Wendelboe Fabech, Project leader of the FDI Project, JN Data. “RES Software was the unanimous choice, as they showed a wide breadth of knowledge of our industry and presented solutions that were aligned with our stringent security and cost saving goals.”

To facilitate the migration, JN Data will leverage RES Baseline Desktop Analyzer and the unique desktop transformation feature of RES Workspace Manager. RES Baseline Desktop Analyzer is a free, online Microsoft Windows Azure-based service that allows IT architects and desktop administrators to quickly gain visibility into their desktop infrastructures through a rich analysis of user context and desktop usage. This data can be integrated with RES Workspace Manager to create workspaces in using a controlled, step-by-step approach that is easy for IT and seamless to users.

“The project criteria JN Data provided us was extremely thorough, but we were confident that our solutions would align with their project’s targets based on other solutions RES Software has provided to managed service providers,” said Kees van Bekkum, Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, RES Software. “In fact, one of our largest current customers is a managed service provider. Our teams are already working with JN Data to provide the first 10,000 employees with secured and better managed workspaces, so they can provide the best IT services to employees at a low cost that meets business goals.”
