Capita’s National Conference on Warning and Informing the Public – Friday 28th September 2012

Capita’s National Conference on Warning and Informing the Public is taking place on Friday 28th September 2012 in Central London

May 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Capita’s 7th National Warning and Informing the Public Conference focuses on efficient ways to communicate with the public, in order to fulfil the duty of responders to warn and inform the public in an emergency.

The UK has been faced with a wide variety of major emergencies ranging from severe weather to large scale public disorder. It is essential that responders have effective communications strategies in place to deal with incidences as they arise. This timely event provides expert guidance on dispersing consistent messages, quickly, accurately and efficiently to the public to deliver an effective response and avoid widespread
panic.

Key speakers provide fresh ideas and the latest lessons learnt including:
• How a comprehensive media strategy was planned and implemented at the Olympics
• Creating effective networks to build whole community resilience
• Achieving a multi-agency response by engaging early with partners
• Utilising social media to communicate during an emergency

With new technology changing the ways in which we communicate and receive information, it is critical that all category 1 and 2 responders are equipped with the knowledge and training on how to use various media channels to best effect. Attend to learn how to maximise the potential of new communication channels, put in place successful up to date strategies and strengthen resilience in your area.
