Las Vegas Racing Team Designed to Get Young Drivers to the Big Time!

    DLR Racing, a go kart race team based in Las Vegas, Nevada, was formed three years ago to advance young drivers to the next level. Racing primarily at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Southern Nevada Karting Championships, the Team is comprised of five young drivers with one thing on their mind, to race professionally.
    “DLR Racing has five good young drivers on the Team”, states Tim Reichert, DLR Racing Team Manager. “Josh Deloiser, is 17 and is our most experienced driver. Josh has won numerous Championships here at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His brightest highlight to date was racing against three Indycar drivers last November at the 2011 SuperNationals. We hope to see him racing against those same drivers at the Indy 500 in the future!”
    “Jason Reichert has raced for DLR Racing since the beginning. Jason has won the Junior 1 Championship and is currently leading the points in the Junior Tag Division”, adds Ken DeLosier, DLR Racing Crew Chief. “The sky is the limit for Jason!”
    Shawn Horter, Jr. is the “Wild Child” of the Team. At just 7 years old, Lilʼ Shawn is already an experienced driver. Shawn is finishing consistently It is not uncommon to see Shawn show up to the race track with a neon yellow helmet and a blue mohawk attached to his helmet!
    Ashley West is the only female driver on the Team. In her first year of racing, Ashley has not only become “one of the guys” off the track, she has adapted well to the stiff competition in the Southern Nevada Karting Championships.
    Christian Sovocool is the “rookie” on DLR Racing. Christian will be racing a Tony Kart in the Clone Kart Division the remainder of the 2012 Season. What Christian lacks in racing experience is made up in passion for racing.
   “Our goal is to develop the drivers on and off the track. Driving is just one of the skills we work on”, states Tim Reichert. “From giving interviews to interacting with sponsors, the next generation of drivers need to be a complete package. Thatʼs what we are trying to instill in them”.
