Mazda2 Models available at Magna Mazda

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Japanese car maker Mazda has been selling the Mazda2 in Europe since 2002 although the current and most distinguishable model was not available until 2007.

The Mazda2 is available as a 3 or 5 door hatchback and as a saloon in some markets. There are 5 petrol engines and 2 diesel units to choose from, the smallest petrol engine is a 1.3 litre with 83 bhp – this is the Skyactiv-G model. The largest petrol engine is a 1.5 litre with 111 bhp. The two diesel engines are a 1.4 litre with 67 bhp and a 1.6 litre with 89 bhp.

Road tax prices for the Mazda2 vary depending on which specification is chosen, but range from licence band C at a cost of £30 to band F at £135.

As standard the Mazda2 comes with air-conditioning and 15-inch steel wheels, side air bags and 16-inch alloy wheels.  A sports body kit comes as standard on the range topping Genki trim model. A reduction in weight of 100kg from its predecessor, the new Mazda2 now weighs no more than it needs to. It’s quicker, stops sooner and is more nimble, making it a great drive both in town and on motorways. Reaching 0-62 mph in 10.7 seconds for the 1.5-litre Sport petrol model.  

The special new Venture Edition of the Mazda2 is distinguishable from the normal range by the gunmetal-coloured 16-inch alloy wheels, sports body kit, front fog lamps and privacy glass. Extra equipment inside includes a Sanyo TomTom navigation system with a 5.8-inch touch screen, integrated Bluetooth hands-free kit, climate control air-conditioning and electric rear windows. It has been described by Mazda as “sleek, stylish, sporty- defining Mazda’s ability to challenge convention and dare to be different”.

Like all the Mazda Venture editions production of the Mazda2 Venture will be limited, only 1,500 units will be produced. Two colours will be specific for the Mazda2 Venture - Dolphin Grey and Burgundy Red.
