Lodge Mazda Brings MX-5 Favourites to the Owners club National Rally

Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Lodge Mazda is set to showcase the unique MX-5 GT Concept and the GT4 race car at the MX-5 owners club National Rally in Cheltenham on 15-16 September. Both the Concept and the GT4 car will be on display throughout the two day event giving car enthusiasts a unique opportunity to see these new headline-grabbing versions of the MX-5.

MX-5 fans are invited to Prescott Hill in Cheltenham to watch the many MX-5’s old and new take on the famous ‘Hill Climb’.  Aylesbury-based Lodge Mazda will not only have the MX-5 GT Concept and the GT4 car but will also be bringing the latest special edition of the MX-5, the Kuro.

MX-5 enthusiasts will get the chance to take a ride in the GT Concept and the Special Edition Kuro as Mazda’s very own professional driver will take those lucky club members for a spin to enjoy the cars’ award-winning sports handling.  As a special treat, Lodge Mazda is also giving four lucky fans the chance to ride in the MX-5 GT Concept up the famous Prescott Hill Climb.  All those visiting the Lodge Mazda stand will have their names put into a hat for a chance to experience this rare opportunity.

The 208ps Concept, built by race specialists Jota Sport and inspired by Mazda’s MX-5 GT4 race car, will attract a great deal of attention.  Originally a 2.0 litre MX-5 model, the GT Concept has been transformed with power increased by 30 per cent from 160ps.  The suspension has been uprated to improve handling, the exhaust note has been enhanced, sports seats keep the driver secure and comfortable, while carbon components reduce weight and smooth the aerodynamics.  

With the main focus still on sport styling, the MX-5 Kuro keeps to this popular theme which is echoed in the sporty, dark accents of the Special Edition model.  Additional specification over the original car includes: a diffuser-style rear sports bumper, larger diameter sports exhaust, unique race car inspired exterior graphics, Black detailing around the front grille and front fog lights, plus unique ‘Kuro Edition’ badging.
