Follow on Google News | Children, families and the local community are invited to join in the fun for PlayweekOn 15 June 2012 Acorns Pre-school in Christian Malford is holding a Play Morning to kick off Pre-school Learning Alliance’s Playweek. It is being held for families and the community to celebrate learning through play and all things early years.
But it’s not all about the grown-ups! Playweek is also a chance to celebrate play and have some fun! Play is fundamental to children’s development and it is especially vital in the early years as the main way that children learn about the world around them. During the event there will be lots of opportunities for children to take part in fun and interesting activities, including messy play, games and even a teddy bears’ picnic. Paula Jenkins, Pre-school Manager at Acorns Pre-school, said: “We are really looking forward to holding our Playweek event on 15th June 2012 and welcoming children and families from the local community to our setting. It is a chance for parents to find out about what is on offer, for everyone to have fun and to celebrate all that OFSTED recognised in the wonderful setting we have by awarding us OUTSTANDING.” James Gray, MP for North Wiltshire said: “I am delighted to have been invited to attend this wonderful event. Early years services such as Acorns Pre-school, Christian Malford are a vital part of the local community and they provide a great deal of support for young children and their families.” Playweek is the Pre-school Learning Alliance’s annual celebration of pre-schools and early years settings. During Playweek thousands of Alliance members throughout England will be holding events which highlight the fundamental importance of play for children’s learning and development – an ethos the Alliance has championed for over 40 years.
