Shepherd Construction One Step Closer To ‘Investors In Diversity’ Award

May 22, 2012 - PRLog -- National contractor Shepherd Construction has shown its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace having reached stage two in the prestigious Investors In Diversity (IiD)* standard.

This follows an initial assessment by the National Centre for Diversity and an intensive period during which Shepherd Construction has established a steering group that includes employees at all levels to embed Investors in Diversity best practice further within the company through the implementation of the IiD action plan. The contractor is now working towards the full formal assessment at the end of 2012.

Shepherd Construction also extends its expectations on equality and diversity to its subcontractors and has worked hard during the last six months to ensure this is communicated effectively across its supply chain.

Paula Smith, head of HR at Shepherd Construction explained: “Reaching stage two is an achievement and shows we are well on the way towards developing a truly inclusive organisational culture in which diversity is genuinely valued”.
