David James Martinez releases “Key of U” to rave reviews!

David James Martinez began his musical career by learning the piano when he was 7 years old.  By the time, he reached 16 he was already writing and recording full-length songs.  At 18, he released his first CD.  He recorded his first professional EP “21” in 2008 in Barbados with Classic Soul Productions.  In 2009, he recorded his second EP titled “2nd Chances” with Goldilocks Productions.  His lead single from that CD “2nd Chances” was featured on a couple of episodes of”The Best Years” which is a Canadian produced TV show.  In 2010, he released the EP “Break-Up Melodies” featuring Selena Coupland.

“Key of U” which was produced by Bill Bell in Los Angeles is his latest installment to this glorious menagerie of whimsical music that he creates.  The lead single off this CD is “After the Dream” which is a feather light beautifully produced single about finding a love that lasts even when all the sparks have faded is a joy to experience.  It is a song about love and sets the tone for the entire CD.  “After The Dream” is a wonderful song with a great melody, a nice hook with a very catchy sound.   The vocals are a perfect fit for this style of music.  

One of many common threads that run through his music is the distinctive style.  His music is soft, sweet and very catchy.  You find yourself singing these songs all the time.   He has that perfect blend of talent that promotes healing.  I love that in an artist because not everyone gets it.  David James Martinez gets it.

David James Martinez has had some local mention in 2008 in a newspaper and of course, that internet buzz and getting on hit TV programming just goes to show how far true talent can take you if you have that drive and the talent.
