By: Rita Young Allen Employees do not leave jobs; they leave Leaders! The kind of leader you are will directly determine what kind of staff you will have. The Concert Master leads, but his greatest gift is the ability to bring varied and diverse players together to form a beautiful, effective, powerful, motivating symphony! Theory Y Leaders have this ability. Theory X Leaders do not. A Team is not formed by pyramid talent; a Team is formed by agreed choice. A true team is one where every member has unique gifts and abilities, but they come together in agreement that they are willing to use those talents for the good of the whole. Every person must recognize and agree that no one’s talent is more important than any other, no matter how small or how large is each contribution. This is uniquely demonstrated in an orchestra. The violin is no more important than the drum; it just has a different role. If each plays their role effectively, the team will be unbeatable. If each instrument plays their part will, the orchestra will be magnificent. Corporate Culture is the character of your company’s personality, your chorus. Many instruments shape this culture…core values, business principles, traditions, beliefs, behaviors and work practices. If one instrument is weak, you can strengthen it. Social Responsibility and Ethical Integrity are the steroids for any business, but these sections of the orchestra don’t always play on top of the note. You have the power to change it. In order to draw a full house, you must have a desired culture. Organizational Behavior can go from Perfect Harmony to Atonal in less than a day! The challenges of leading human organizations in the real world (not a fantasy world) are great. The purpose of any organization is to achieve a designated result. Now that the power has shifted from the sellers to the buyers, the organizational behavior has taken on a new face. One where everything happens faster, and anything that can be done, will be done. This assures us of a less predictable workplace, no matter how many basic rules are in place. Just as a breakdown in the middle of a symphony masterpiece, nothing falls apart. Most of the time, very few people even knew there was a breakdown…because of the loyalty of the organizational behavior. While Rita’s programs are powerful and educational, they are also fun, interactive and very memorable. She brings very engaging audience participation, lots of laughs and deep lessons learned. http://www.ritayoungallen.com To book Rita for your 2012 event: Tracy Taylor tracy@isnworks.com 800-987-7771 ext 11 End
