TTM Global Learns Twitter Hits 10m UK Users

May 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The micro-blogging site Twitter has risen to the top of social network use in recent years and no more so it appears, than in the UK. The site has 140 million users worldwide with Britain being the fourth biggest user after the USA, Japan and Brazil. Twitter is still relatively small compared to the 800 million users that Facebook has worldwide but many, including the team at TTM Global, believe that this could change. Facebook is currently gearing up for the largest initial public offering that the technology sector has ever seen and is expected to be valued at $100bn. However advertising executives feel that Twitter will stand the test of time where Facebook will falter.

Despite the popularity of Twitter it doesn’t mean that the site hasn’t had its problem. The social media site has come into the line of fire for aiding criminals during the summer riots of 2011 that swept through major cities around Britain. It was claimed that rioters were using the site as well as Blackberry Messenger to make plans and co-ordinate unrest. TTM Global understands there are certain camps that have campaigned for police to have the powers to block social media sites like Twitter during unrest.
