Get More Organic Traffic: 3 Easy SEO Tips That Can Double or Triple Your Site’s Traffic

Following are three simple SEO tips that can easily get you a few thousand more website visitors – if you start using them now, and continue to do it consistently.

I. Name Photographs/Images Correctly: Most online newbies use the following naming system for images: photo1.jpg, photo2.jpg, photo3.jpg, etc.

This is an ineffective way to name them because it doesn’t tell search engines what the image (or your site) is all about. For example, if your site sold wedding rings and you went to upload a new collection of men’s titanium wedding bands, you should name the photographs something like: mens-titanium-wedding-band, or titanium-wedding-ring-for-man, or wedding-ring-titanium-male.

See what I mean? This tells search engines what your site – and the image – is all about. Remember, search engines are robots. They need descriptive text to clue them in as to what a site (and the image that appears on it) is all about. When you use the 1, 2, 3 naming technique, it gives zero info.

When you use the descriptive naming technique outlined here, you can easily get more organic traffic – possibly a few thousand more that you’ve probably been missing out on.

II. Do Keyword Research: Learn how to use Google’s keyword research tool. This is probably the number one weapon that you should arm yourself with to get more organic traffic. Why? Because it literally tells you what keywords (search phrases) web surfers are typing in to find stuff online.

Don’t be intimidated; you don’t have to be some type of SEO guru to understand and use it.

III. Create Content: Once you learn how to do keyword research, then you just have to regularly create and distribute content (eg, blog and/or start a newsletter). I blog regularly and write three newsletters. To distribute my content, I use article marketing and Twitter, my social media outlet of choice.

If you start doing all of the above regularly, you can easily double or triple your organic traffic in a matter of months – especially if you’ve never used any of these techniques before.
