Amateur Athletes: $50K of Funding Available to Train Like Pro

Recently launched site www.TheProProject.org is looking to fund amateur athletes with packages of $50,000 plus coaching and mentorship.

May 11, 2012 - PRLog -- TheProProject.org is conducting a continent wide search for deserving amateur athletes looking to dedicate themselves for one year towards the goal of becoming a professional. TheProProject would like to find athletes in your city or town to apply for $50,000 in sponsorship as well as coaching, nutritional support, and mentorship.

Many struggling athletes are close to achieving their goals however don’t have enough time in their busy lives to get those precious extra hours of training in. Additionally some athletes out there may have hit speed bumps that resulted in them being overlooked by coaches or scouts. Other gifted athletes may have gotten into their sports late and may seem too old or too inexperienced to make the elite level. TheProProject.org is looking to fund any amateur athlete regardless of skill level, sex, or sport of choice.

The first athlete taking part in the project is the founder and Executive Director of TheProProject.org Jesse Jarjour. Jesse is training as a road cyclist and is located in the Ottawa region in Ontario, Canada.

TheProProject.org was launched in April of 2012 by Jesse Jarjour to answer one simple question that Jesse likes to ask at cocktail parties, on runs, or while participating in sports: “If you had one year to focus 100% on training for the sport of your choice, how far could you go?”
