An extra 1000 tickets available for sport village and Olympic Torch Relay Evening Celebration

An extra 1,000 tickets have been released for a free sports and entertainment showcase in Swansea later this month.

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Singleton Park will be hosting a day of sports opportunities and an evening of music and entertainment when the Olympic Torch Relay visits the city on Saturday May 26.

Lucky ticket applicants won’t have to pay for entry to the event which is split into two parts with afternoon sports events giving way to evening entertainment from 5pm that includes a set by pop band Kids in Glass Houses.

The event is being organised by Swansea Council and from 1pm – 5pm visitors will have the chance to try out virtually an alphabet of sport ranging from athletics and archery to rugby and rowing. Fun inflatables will also be on hand as well as have a go demonstration areas.

Gates for the Evening Celebration open at 4pm. The event will feature a two and a half hour stage show that will culminate with the arrival of the Olympic Torch at about 6.50p.m.

People can also apply for their free tickets from Swansea Tourist Information Centre on Plymouth Street. Tickets sold online or over the phone will be subject to a £3 administration fee per booking.
