Updated version of Espresso MD Cloud Electronic Health Record shed a new light on Medical Charting

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- The IT/Health company Scionis added a new feature to its Cloud Electronic Health Record EspressoMD. This new service, called Espresso Medical Charts was created to offer physicians a tailored, intuitive and secure tool to collect and organize their patients data. It is based on the EspressoMD Electronic Cloud Health Record and can be accessed through the Espresso Medical Charts application.

Contrary to usual EHR, the Espresso Medical Charts service focuses on the physician. Because each physician, each specialty and each context is different, the Espresso Medical Charts Service allows the physician to choose the Assessments, Scores or Forms he needs from a large library of clinical charts (the Espresso Clinical Charts Store). It also includes the creation or the adaptation of a chart to any of his specific needs. To respect each physician’s practice, the solution doesn’t impose any chart form. All data fields are optional, to let the physician decide which pieces of information he really needs for his chart(s). And the service can be used through a smartphone, a tablet or a computer.

As Mário Bessa, Scionis CEO, explains: “Scionis’ goal is to simplify. Our tools must not interfere with the physican’s processes but rather become non-intrusive facilitators.” That is why the Espresso Medical Charts application was designed to be simple to use: the physician is never more than 3 clicks away from recording the needed data, the Patient Records are presented in a concise manner, and the Clinical status changes are highlighted so that the doctor can easily track what changed. And as the patient data is stored through the EspressoMD Cloud Electronic Health Record, it is accessible anytime and anywhere.

“But intuitive doesn’t mean lacking of security”, points out Ricardo Almeida. “The Espresso Medical Charts service is a very secured service indeed. All the data are safely stored in the Espresso Cloud Electronic Health Record servers. Nobody but the physician - not even us, the Scionis staff - can access it. And it is daily backed-up through hard disk redundancy.”.
