May 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Stanley Widmer Associates inc. is searching for a company with interest to purchase or partnership with SWA Inc. This includes the present tooling for the 7-meter patrol boat and prototype test boat. Since the tooling was designed as modular the basic hull can be used for several different models. The stern tool is a slide off. If the buyer is off shore this must be a friendly country to the USA.
My age is 75 as of April 2012; we would prefer to keep the proposed development here in Staples MN where the City of Staples has 150 acres by the runway. We have a proposed hub site laid out with the help of the City of Staples. Ship by air, ground, or rail is the plan.  Visit my website at http://www.widmerboat.com .
Our proposed engineering an assembly building of 40,000 square feet has provision for additional engineering space on a second level. Quoted price is at 2,255,000 with precast concrete walls. A molding plant has yet to be laid out however our present molder had a passing of the president with molding of our boats is now in question.
We have a 24’ machine with a heaver payload at 12,000 pounds quoted from Ferry Industries which will run around $600,000. We also have quotes for a 42’ and an inline 60’ rotational molding machine which will be needed soon for molding of larger unmanned and manned boats for USA and countries off shore which is in the planning stages. The 60’ machine needs to have the weight capacity bumped up to 50,000 pounds to carry heavy cast tooling.

We also have been developing 11 meter designs with sliding truss’s plus kiss-offs. We recently bid on a fully enclosed boat for the northern tip of Alaska (Barrow Alaska). All doors would be changed to hatches with a gasket seal.  Twin engines would supply heat to the cabin having radiators with no intake of outside water for engine cooling. Since they have no docks or launching faculties we would have provided a custom wheeled cradle to remove the boat from the traveling ice flow when not in use.
There would be no low spots for ice to build up in a hollow. Side ice can be removed by a long handled sledge hammer. This approach should not be used on glass or aluminum hulls. Only rotational molded polyethylene cross-link will withstand this method of using a sledge hammer to remove hull or cabin ice.
Another model that we have interest in is prop driven sleds to travel on ice, snow, or water. I built prop driven sleds back in the fifties. What we would be designing now would have a crew cabin of four to six people with a lot of new features. Could be manned or unmanned.
Replacement slide on stern tool with tooling changes for the revised top deck will build a twin outboard engine model with a belly fuel tank. We have cad files and tooling quotes for this. When molding the first patrol boat we had difficulty in removing the top deck tool due to the pins sticking. We have a quote from Norstar tooling (roughly $22,000) to modify the tooling for cam lift for the pins to slide out from the molded part leaving the molded part for easy removal from the tool.
We have a custom trailer and cradle which are covered by cad files which I also own. Another new model deck tunnel hull to replace the present aluminum and plywood pontoon boats is laid out on cad with patent coverage on the kiss-offs as well as our sliding truss design with patent pending. This is in a length of 23’-4” and a width of 8’-6”as a consumer or military model.  Has a step down from the helm area with provisions for an inboard diesel with jet or single outboard engine. Side hulls are a copy of the 7-meter with chine’s. Currently have a pontoon boat manufacturer interested in this for September.

We also have interest in developing a hybrid electric/ diesel 7-meter as an unmanned vehicle working with one of the major diesel engine mfg’s with run time in days.
As a major weight reduction for seating in suspension chairs we have a new design on cad with patent pending at 31 pounds. Add a few more pounds for a sliding track system.  Reduction in weight is an important boat issue.
I would recommend part of our staff to remain in place such as our lead cad, model maker and present General Manager Andy Stone who could be promoted to president. Andy is our lead engine mechanic heading up our website and in control of all offshore and on shore sales activity. Andy is well rounded to handle many tasks. I could be available as needed. Additional models that we have mostly completed on cad are a 15’-4” in length bass boat with a hidden trolling motor. We have compartments on both sides for fish tank, rod storage, ice cooler, battery compartment, oil injection compartment for 60 hp outboard engines. Anchor compartment in the bow.
Cad is now underway on a new 16’-5” in length sport ski boat. This is a four passenger 200 hp Mercury jet. Soon we will be starting on a cabin sailboat with inboard engine as well as sails with a drop platform on the stern in a length of 31 to 34 feet. This boat will sleep four to six people. Totally rotational molded in a double wall with kiss-offs and truss’s. Fin keel will also be rotational molded at a much lower cost then what is presently being built.
Andy recently wrote my article of fifty years plus which appears in the January/February Article of ARM RotoWorld Magazine, What’s Your Dream? We presently have infringement to my patent issued and pending which needs to be addressed with a license agreement or legal action for infringement here in the USA.
Interested parties can come to our location here in Staples MN, USA to discuss in detail of this sales or partnership transaction and review the hub location.
