May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- For the past three years Client Solution Architects (CSA) has invited employees to take part in a long distance relay event. Employees who enjoy running, challenging themselves and seeing some of the most scenic parts of the country sign up to participate in the 200 mile team relay. This year’s relay landed CSA in Huntington Beach, Calif. to run 205 miles south to Coronado Island, near San Diego. Past relays have sent CSA running from Reno to Tahoe and Gettysburg to Washington, D.C.

At 8:30 AM on Friday April 20, 2012, CSA’s relay adventure teams set out on their 30+ hour journey. For those who are not familiar with team relay races, teams of 12 runners spend two days and one night running distances totaling approximately 200 miles. Participants take turns running their legs while their teammates cheer them on from their van. For the second year in a row, CSA fielded two teams for this adventure challenge.

“I look forward to this race every year because it brings together CSA’s east and west coast offices,” said Ellen Barletto, 3-year adventure relay race veteran and CSA Contracts Management Consultant. “Not only is it an excellent team building event, it also promotes health and wellness. We encourage participation from beginners to ultra-marathoners and this year we had a handful of new runners that braved big hills, intense heat, and exhaustion. Each team’s willingness to come together and support each other allowed us to power through to the finish line – right near where the Navy Seals train, which is quite inspiring in itself.  I look forward to next year’s event and the addition of even more teams and participation in the future!”

This year, CSA’s fastest team landed themselves 66th out of nearly 550 teams and 18th in their division (Regular-Mixed-Open); completing the race in 30:04:42.6 with a pace of 8:52.

CSA would like to thank their 2012 sponsors; DRASH®, Kathy Loper Events and Viscounte Financial for their continued support of CSA Adventure Relays.
