603 000 Workers Had An Accident At Work In 2010/11 – Move From Reactive To Proactive Safety

Work safety is the prime concern of every employee and the alarming rise in the number of work place accidents has made it mandatory for organizations to create awareness on fire safety.
May 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Fire safety has always been and will be a concern for all developed economies and more so for the developing economies. Industry statistics show that Fire fighting and rescue systems are expected to be one of the core growth areas in the coming years. An estimated 603 000 workers had an accident at work in 2010-11. 200 000 of these injuries led to over 3 days absence from work and 150 000 to absence over 7 days (LFS) which is an alarming number. Accidents involving electricity, fire, explosion or drowning/asphyxiation accounted for one in eight fatalities but only one in 100 non-fatal injuries. These figures have shown how important it is to ensure Fire safety in all environments.

International Building codes, technical aspects of the codes, crisis management system, equipment adequacy test, importance of fire fighting equipment, architectural designing in the evolving construction industry were the highlights of the conference held in 2010 and 2011.
