May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Palm Beach County joined the American Cancer Society for the “Relay for Life” event that took place on April 14th at the Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. There they unveiled the new PURPLE LAW ENFORCEMENT CAR which is said to be the sister vehicle to the PINK LAW ENFORCEMENT CAR.

PBSO explained at the Relay that these Patrol Vehicles were created to show support for the cancer research and cancer survivors. PBSO helped raise over $20,000 in this effort.

The Purple patrol car, as well as the Pink patrol cars, is the first law enforcement vehicles of its kind in the United States.  They were created to show support for cancer research and cancer survivors. We want the community to know that law enforcement’s role is not only to SERVE and PROTECT our community, but to promote a sense of giving and support to anyone diagnosed with cancer.

This “Relay for Life” event brought our PBSO family together with members of the community to celebrate the lives of our survivors, remember the loved ones we have lost and to help raise money to fight against this horrible disease. We camped overnight and walked continuously around the track to signify that CANCER NEVER SLEEPS.
