May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- The World Ballet Competition has announced the broadcast of the 2008 All Stars of Dance to be shown worldwide on starting May 4, 2012, on demand and completely free-of-charge on WBCTv. The 2008 All Stars of Dance (previously Gala of the Stars) received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike when it concluded the World Ballet Competition in Orlando, Florida, USA four years ago. Diane Burns of the Orlando Sentinel, admired the evening’s “delightful treats” and noted the performance to be filled with “plenty of bravura fireworks to please ballet purists”.

Among the repertoire:

Emily Slawski, at the tender age of 10, impresses the crowd with her impeccable technique and a mature style for such a young age in a variation from Don Quixote. Taras Domitro, now principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet, wows the audience with sky-reaching leaps in “Flames of Paris”. Adiarys Almeida and Joseph Gatti of Boston Ballet reach new heights of technique and artistry in a pas de deux from “Satanella”.  Now-retired principal dancer of Boston Ballet, Larissa Ponomarenko, and James Whiteside captivate the audience in a choreography by Vitkor Plotnikov entitled “Tension and Beauty”. Another audience favorite, Momix Dance Company presents two of their world-popular pieces, “Skiva” and a mesmerizing “Aqua Flora”. A new work by Miami dancer Edgar Anido that won the 2008 WBC Choreography award is performed by Diana Gomez and Andrea Figueroa. Plus more stars are featured of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Washington Ballet, Cirque du Soleil with Agape from Mexico, Carolina Ballet and Urban Ballet Theatre of New York City; all among winners of the 2008 World Ballet Competition.
