Flowcrete’s GREEN Floorzone Solution Revolutionises Flooring in Education

Representing substantial research and development, The GREEN Floorzone covers every aspect of a commercial flooring installation, from substrate through to final floor finish, with the option of underfloor heating and sound-proofing built-in.

Ideal for school new build and refurbishment projects, this single-source, single-warranty floor build-up programme features a number of sustainable flooring options including choices in resin floor finish and self-levelling screed, as well as an energy-saving underfloor heating system and noise reducing acoustic layer.

A range of resin floor finishes deliver a tailored solution to suit numerous education applications.

These include durable and attractive products for corridors, hygienic Flowfresh flooring for kitchens, the composite FlowSport system for sports halls and heavy-duty epoxy systems for maintenance areas.

All seamless resin floor finishes are supported by Flowcrete’s market-leading and newly enhanced Isocrete Floor Screeds range, which have been given a green makeover with a new formulation free from Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), and manufactured from a high percentage of recycled raw materials.

An optional element of Green Floorzone involves the Isowarm underfloor heating system, which offers energy efficient savings of up to 30 per cent compared to conventional heating systems. This system is also of value to the education sector due to its space-spacing design underfoot, and the fact there are no hot surfaces to protect children from.

Another optional feature, which represents the first stage of the floorzone build-up is Isocrete Acoustic Foam, which reduces sound transfer between floors – of benefit for multi-level schools to reduce noise between classrooms and corridors.

GREEN Floorzone is also structured to meet the needs of specifiers through an advanced service offer. The system can tie in with the concept of standardised school design packages and cost efficiencies are achieved by working with Flowcrete to meet the requirements of pre-set budgets, without compromising on quality.

The services of Flowcrete’s internal project management division can also be implemented, to ensure the flooring installation is completed to the highest standards, on time and on budget.
