April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- The Real Estate Council’s 24th annual FightNight: The Original is set for Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Anatole. This year’s black tie event features professional boxing, casino gaming, outstanding cuisine and Vegas-style entertainment along with terrific networking with leaders in the commercial real estate industry.

On April 24, The Real Estate Council and Harwood International honored FightNight 24 sponsors at Saint Ann Restaurant and Bar. FightNight Chairman Michael Krywucki of Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, said this year’s event promises to be memorable.

“Where else can you have a night of high-level celebration networking among the most influential decision makers in the real estate industry and generate more than a half-million dollars that goes right back into the Dallas community?” Krywucki said. “Plus, FightNight 24 will feature our first ever female ring announcer Amy Hayes.”

Amy Hayes is the first female ring announcer in boxing, being the first to announce world title fights. In 2002, she became the exclusive ring announcer on Fox Sports Network’s Sunday Night Fights series for five years. A graduate of Specs Howard School of Media Arts (Southfield, Mich.), Hayes works at ESPN radio in Lexington, Ky., following the footsteps of her father in radio broadcasting.

There are four bouts planned:
Bout #1 Cruiserweights: Luis Ambriz (Tyler, Texas) vs. Luther Miller (Carthage, Texas).
Bout #2 Super Lightweights: Blake Franklin (Shreveport, La.) vs. Joel Baglio (Lake Charles, La.).
Bout #3 Cruiserweights: Medzhid Bekteminov (Houston, Texas, originally from Russia) vs. Harry Gopaul (Sacramento, Calif.).
Bout #4 Light Heavyweights is for the World Boxing Council (WBC) U.S. Championship Title. Sparring opponents are Cedric Agnew (Chicago, Ill.) vs. Otis Griffin (Sacramento, Calif.).

Since its inception in 1988, The Real Estate Council’s FightNight has grown to one of North Texas’ largest philanthropic events, raising more than $20 million to support The Real Estate Council Foundation and its good works. These funds are leveraged with the pro bono technical expertise of members of The Real Estate Council to assist in the foundation’s four focus areas: education, housing, job creation and the environment.

Krywucki’s knock-out committee has been at work on the event for months:
Vice Chairman: Diane Butler, Butler Burgher Group
Boxing Chair: Steve Crosson, Crosson Dannis, Inc.
Logistics/Design Chair: Meredith Small, Meredith Small Design Group
Finance Chair: Dallas Lamon, Deloitte.
Publicity Chair: Chad Schieber, Beck
Raffle Prize Chairs: Billy Gannon, Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc.; Gerry Hedgcock, Crow Holdings
Raffle Sales Chairs: Cullen Aderhold, HFF; Sarah Hinkley, Peloton Commercial Real Estate
Table Sales Chair: Trey Morsbach, HFF
Volunteer Chair: Brendon Hollier, Palio Partners

“I cannot say enough kind words about our sponsors, which is a list that reads like a who’s who of Dallas commercial real estate,” Krywucki said. “The support for The Real Estate Council Foundation through FightNight goes well beyond our sponsors and includes more than 75 other real estate companies that buy tables as well as countless individual members who buy scores of raffle tickets for a chance to win incredible raffle prizes, several of which are trips of a lifetime.”

Raffle tickets are available from The Real Estate Council’s Associate Leadership Council members and benefit the class community service project, the WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn College. Learn more at recouncil.com/raffle.
