PRLog -- The Destroyit 2603 SMC provides level 6 security shredding for your most sensitive documents. Level 6 is the highest level of security required by the United States government and guarantees that the shredded files will be impossible to reassemble. In particular, the 2603 by MBM is approved by the Department of Defense and meets all NSA/CSS requirements. If your department has these security requirements for the destruction of its data, a super micro cut shredder such as the Destroyit 2603 is necessary; if you don’t have the requirements, a high security shredder is still the best way to achieve peace of mind when disposing of your shred waste. The Destroyit 2603/2 shreds up to 10 sheets per pass at a rate of 28 feet per minute into 1/32” x 3/16” bits of paper. There is no risk of any personal information getting into the wrong hands even after you shred it.
Oftentimes the wear and tear on Level 6 cross-cut shredders is higher than that of lower security shredders – this can be due to the difficulty in keeping the cutting head properly lubricated while it’s working so hard to provide the smallest shred available. A user would have to oil the cutting shafts more frequently in an SMC than another cross-cut shredder, but luckily MBM included an automatic oiler in the Destroyit 2603. With automatic oiling, the shredder will be maintained and lubricated without the user needing to assist in any way other than refilling the oil when it runs out! The automatic oiler is key in keeping your 2603/2 SMC running at peak performance for years to come.
What really sets the Destroyit 2603 SMC (
http://www.whitakerbrothers.com/destroyit-2603-2-smc-high...) apart from the crowd are its features. Destroyit shredders are known for being reliable and safe, and the 2603 holds true to this favorable impression. The “SPS” Safety Protection System helps protect both machine and user from harmful use. An electronically controlled transparent safety shield in the feed opening prevents anything other than paper from entering the 10 ¼” throat and coming in contact with the hardened steel blades. If the shield is ever lifted, the shredder will not operate. One of the most useful features we’ve come across in a shredder is the “ECC” Electronic Capacity Control. This will measure and report the current capacity of the shredder in real time, showing the user just how much paper the machine can be fed at any given moment during operation. It is common for SMCs to have paper jams because they don’t take as many sheets per pass as lower security shredders and people can get impatient. With the ECC, the temptation to overfeed the shredder will disappear because there is a clear warning against doing so, saving you from paper jams and keeping the shredder running smoothly.
Another handy indicator on the Destroyit 2306 is the Easy Switch. This large button works as both the power switch and an operational status indicator. The Easy Switch has back-lit symbols that will appear if the shredder is in any kind of distress. Whether it be a jam, full bin, or open door, the user is made aware of the problem and can quickly address it. The Easy Switch will often help the user in these circumstances, such as automatically reversing when there’s a paper jam. All in all, the Destroyit 2603 by MBM is one of the easiest to use high security shredders and comes with our highest recommendation.
