Follow on Google News | April 25 Community Training Institute for Dallas/Fort Worth NonprofitsThe Women’s Council of Dallas County is hosting the first annual Community Training Institute on April 25 in Dallas at Temple Emanu-El. CTI is a half-day educational seminar of general sessions and workshops for nonprofit leadership.
CTI seminars are designed for senior and mid-level leadership in nonprofit organizations as well as board members, civic-minded corporate executives, foundations and graduate students. “We decided to craft a half-day program after we saw the need for a focused and affordable training conference for the DFW nonprofit community,” states Marlene Cohen, president of the Women’s Council. “We look forward to bringing together nonprofit leaders—both staff and volunteer, and learning from the wisdom shared by our distinguished CTI keynote speakers and workshop leaders.” CTI’s done-in-a-half- CTI will culminate with a luncheon presentation of the 57th awards program of the Women’s Council. The luncheon program also includes presentation of 2012 grant beneficiaries of the Women’s Council along with installation of their board of directors. Award recipients include: Distinguished Public Service – Lisa Hembry, CEO, LIFT; Member Organization – Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity; Individual Member – Sharon King, VP, CCCS; and Woman of the Year – Jennifer Sampson, CEO, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Grant beneficiaries are: Child Abuse Prevention Center; ChildCareGroup, and North Texas Food Bank. In addition, there will be a surprise award presented to a longtime member of the Women’s Council during the luncheon program.
