April 6, 2012 - PRLog -- "My Aunt Ate Eight Ants!" (ISBN 9781466018365) by Dawn Maria Brady is an illustrated children's book featuring tongue-twisting homonym sentences associated with wild and zany depictions to teach children the differences between words that sound the same.

To a preschool or elementary child learning the English language, the compilation of homonym sentences such as, "Nobody heard the hoarse horse in the herd because his voice was quiet." or "The knight could not tie a knot at night." make a definite contrast between words with the same sound.

"At a home school gathering I heard children discussing homonyms and they were having trouble understanding the concept. As a child, I had trouble grasping the spellings and meanings of words that were the same, too. I wrote and illustrated the book on the child's level to solve that hurdle." explains Mrs. Brady.

Written for young readers and their families, the book features hand drawn illustrations by Dawn Maria to demonstrate the definitions of homonyms in the sentences and includes a vocabulary list of words used.  Intended to educate and entertain, the book combines words and images for easy reading that children will enjoy and read again and again.

"My Aunt Ate Eight Ants!" is available for sale online at Amazon.com.  Available on other channels summer 2012.
