The Bra Recyclers and Leading Lady Intimate Apparel Partner to Achieve 'The Perfect Fit'

April 2, 2012 - PRLog -- The Bra Recyclers, an Arizona based recycling company uniquely specializing in the recycling of gently used bras, have announced a strategic partnership with Leading Lady, a premiere nursing and full figure intimate apparel company.  The partnership will provide a unique opportunity for both companies to ‘go-green’ while continuing to expand their outreach in communities around the country by providing bras that gives women in transition the extra ‘lift’ they need on their journey back to self-sufficiency.

The Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento is one such shelter with a high demand for recycled bras of larger sizes. “Often times, they come to us with nothing and we provide them with everything from socks and shoes to school uniforms. We have a problem obtaining donations of larger-sized bras for the older teenage girls. Nobody thinks of a 16 year old girl as being a size 16 and wearing 40DD bras. It is embarrassing for these girls to not have a bra to wear,” said Tanya Kravchuk, staff member at the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento.

In addition to providing encouragement and support to women and girls in need, The Bra Recyclers and Leading Lady will be doing their part to prevent the number of reusable textiles entering the waste stream. According to SMART (Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association), the average person throws away over 10 pounds of clothing annually. This accounts for 2.5 billion tons of waste that can be kept from landfills.
