UK Launch of First Solar Tensile PV Outdoor Canopy to help reduce energy costs for schools.

March 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Most schools are now looking at ways to reduce their energy costs, however due to the type of building and costs involved renewable energy in the form of traditional glass solar panels are not always an option.

Inside2Outside is proud to announce that the company is now exclusively able to offer solar tensile membrane structures for schools in the UK.  This revolutionary new roofing material combines the lightweight versatility of tension membrane roofing with the energy harnessing capabilities of Photovoltaics, known as Tensile PV.  This innovative technology will provide schools with both a safe, outdoor learning area whilst offering considerable energy savings and, if they sign up to the government’s Feed-in-Tariff, will even generate a vital income.  

Tensile PV generates electricity from light, not sunlight, so is ideally suited to the UK climate and therefore generates greater output than traditional PV.  Their lightweight solar panels can also be fitted onto any school buildings or outbuildings to help generate an income, and can even be used to repair leaky roofs.
