Fort Worth Marketing Consultant Runs First Half Marathon

March 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Randy Vaughn, Fort Worth-Dallas' only Certified Duct Tape Marketing Consultant, will run in the Dallas Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon, Sunday, March 25, 2012.  This is Vaughn's first half marathon.

"My wife ran her first last year," quipped Vaughn, "so it was obvious I was going to get signed up for my first half marathon this year."  

Vaughn relates the training for a half marathon to the systematic training in marketing a business.  "Any runner knows that you can't wake up one morning and decide to run a half marathon," he explains.  "You must establish a systematic plan, one that is routine, challenging, rewarding and one that will get you where you want to be on the day of the big run."

Vaughn further explains the similarities in growing a business.  "Most business owners I talk with have no plan for marketing, they consider it a mystery, and yet they still want their business to grow.  They want the perfect house without following a blueprint."

"When I started training 9 months ago for my own half marathon," Vaughn explains, "I could not help but notice the similarities in training business owners.  When I first started, I couldn't run very far and was out of breath.  And I stumbled often and even experienced some physical pain that could have set me back.  But by following a systematic training plan, here I am on the eve of my half marathon having recently completed training runs of 6, 8 and even 10 miles.  I can see the finish line - and that's a result I look forward to enjoying!"
