The winners of the MIRA TELECOM Student internship program were selected

MIRA TELECOM, in partnership with Center for Surface Science and Nanotechnology, University Politehnica of Bucharest announces the winners of the internship program „MIRA TELECOM Student – Programming the future”.

March 20, 2012 - PRLog -- The five young students who, for almost four months, will take  part in an internship developed within the „NanoProgramming - controlling a system for atomic and nanoscale manipulation” project are students of The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers and of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology from Bucharest.

The jury composed of Professor Dr. Marius Enachescu (coordinator of Center for Surface Science and Nanotechnology – UPB) and the MIRA TELECOM representatives had the difficult task of selecting five winners from a multitude of application forms submitted during the last month. The academic performances were considered, as well as the originality of the approach in research, proven by an essay on the subject of „Programming for Nanotechnology”.

The five selected students are: Drăgan Monica Andreea – The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, Filipescu Bogdan Marian – The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology Bucharest, Radu Andrei – The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, Tomescu Daniel Valentin – The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, Urziceanu Paul Florin – The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers.

„We had the joy of discovering that the academic environment of University Politehnica of Bucharest is a very competitive one, and the students are connected to the latest technological novelties. We hope this program will be an opportunity to form long term professional connections with these students, considering that MIRA TELECOM is one of the companies that encourages and supports the new generation of researchers in Romania” stated Stelian Ilie – MIRA TELECOM President.

The internship program will take place between  March 20 and June 30, 2012, under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Marius Enăchescu, within the „NanoProgramming – controlling a system for atomic and nanoscale manipulation” project. The individual work program of each student during the project will be established based on mutual agreement of the project coordinator and the MIRA TELECOM representatives and according to the academic program of the student.

The three winners of the MIRA TELECOM Excellence Scholarships will be selected from the internship participants. The three annual scholarships will be granted for the 2012 - 2013 university year.
