A Successful Night At The PPA Ball

March 14, 2012 - PRLog -- This year it was held in the historic Dockyard of Portsmouth naval base in Boathouse No.7. 175 people attended and enjoyed a different event than had been experienced in previous years, including a display by the Fort Cumberland Guard, of various drills, culminating in their musket firing sequence.

There were the usual speeches by members and distinguished guests including local lawyer Barry King of Glanvilles, and for the first time, music by local band Strictly.  As befits a charity dinner, raffle prizes were kindly donated by various PPA members and other local firms and over £2,100.00 was raised on the night for the Association’s charities, being Dorothy’s Dream Hospice and Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
