Hyatt Place Chesapeake is Host Hotel for Dismal Swamp Stop Half Marathon

March 10, 2012 - PRLog -- The Hyatt Place Chesapeake Greenbrier has been the host hotel for the Dismal Swamp Stop Half Marathon since they opened their doors and continues on the tradition this April.

The Dismal Swamp Stop Half Marathon kicks-off April 14th at 8:00am. This 13.1-mile race takes runners on a beautiful paved trek through the wetlands and wilderness of the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. 2,500 runners will have the opportunity to enjoy this adventure and compete for cash prices for 1st – 5th places. Along with fun and fitness, proceeds from the race benefits Chesapeake Care a Free Clinic and Chesapeake Public Schools Education Foundation.

Little runners can also enjoy this natural wonder and the joys of fitness with the Children's Half Mile Cub Run. Each child will receive a finisher’s medal as well as a special runner’s packet. The kid’s run begins at 11:30 am on race day and parents are welcome to run with their kids.
