Feb. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Chase Wilson Education is pleased to announce a new comprehensive Anti-Bullying Curriculum for teachers, counselors and administrators. The curriculum was developed and written by Andrew Yeager, a NJ School Psychologist  and Student Assistance Coordinator, who lectures extensively and conducts training's on bullying and adolescent issues throughout the country.

The curriculum includes four sections and will be available for purchase -- Spring 2012.

Part One:  “The Building Blocks of Bullying” A comprehensive description and analysis of the 20 “Building Blocks” that lead to harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB). This section includes specific lesson plans and classroom activities that address HIB from a number of important perspectives.  All lessons are correlated with Core Curriculum Content Standards and include suggested enduring understandings and essential questions.

Part Two:  “Special Topics” This section focuses on several unique manifestations of HIB, including: cyber-bullying, gender differences and relational aggression, relationship bullying, dating violence, and the role of hate speech and homophobia. Each section contains specific lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with Core Standards. Also included are guidelines and strategies for improving school climate and documenting anti-bullying efforts.

Part Three:  “Differentiated Instruction and Classroom Infusion” This section incorporates the “Building Blocks” of HIB into several disciplines.  Lessons are designed for English, History, Science, Health, and Foreign Language classes, and contain modifications for students with special needs. Lessons “infuse” anti-bullying themes within established department curricula. Lessons guide teachers on how to use class material to illuminate the dynamics of HIB in a subtle, yet targeted way.  Lesson plans are aligned with Core Standards.

Part Four:  “Counseling the HIB-Involved Student” This section provides in-depth therapeutic strategies for counseling HIB-involved students and includes assessment forms and guidelines for creating effective treatment plans and documenting student progress.
