The Queer Queens of Qomedy coming to San Diego

Feb. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Producer and internationally known comedian Poppy Champlin artfully selects the best of the best lesbian comics from across the country to join her at each venue.  Now in it’s sixth year, Poppy and the Q3 are thrilled to announce that HRC has come on board as the official sponsor of the Queens tours in 2012, with some of the proceeds going to this worthy cause.  After a Southern tour in January, Poppy and her entourage are heading to San Diego. Tapping some of her favorite California Girls to join her, Poppy has asked Gina Yashere and Fortune Feimster to wear the crowns.

About the Comedians

Poppy Champlin
Her stand-up pedigree is flawless; from her latest  SHOWTIME SPECIAL: PRIDE: The Gay and Lesbian Comedy Slam, and LOGO: ONE NIGHT STAND-UP,  to Oprah Winfrey, Comedy Central,  a featured story on Entertainment Tonight, a winner on The Joan Rivers Show, honoring her with America’s Funnies Real Woman and a panel guest on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. She is also a favorite on both Atlantis and Olivia cruises.

Gina Yashere
Gina is from London England and is making a big splash in the pond on this side.  She is a regular on THE TONIGHT SHOW as the Surly Psychic, has a SHOWTIME Special and CD “Skinny Bitch”, has appeared on LIVE AT THE APOLLO, LAST COMIC STANDING, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN, DEF COMEDY JAM and has performed at The JUST FOR LAUGHS COMEDY FESTIVAL in Montreal.  She also does her duty and performs for the troops in Iraq.  

Fortune Feimster
The next and youngest Queen to reign is Fortune Feimster.  This young comic is on fire.  Her credits include LAST COMIC STANDING where she was a semi finalist on NBC.  She is a full time writer and panelist for E ENTERTAINMENT on CHELSEA LATELY.  She is also an ensemble performer at THE GROUNDLINGS SUNDAY COMPANY in Hollywood and a regular performer at The Hollywood Improv and The Comedy Store.
