Feb. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Liberty University Press recently released “Whispered to the Heart,” a novel by Terry Barnes that is dedicated to “those whose tears fall at the feet of a silent God.”

Inspired in part by a true event, “Whispered to the Heart” chronicles the spiritual journey of a ten-year-old boy named Luke as he struggles with the concept of father figures and longs for an encounter with the living God. Through this struggle he learns that the journey of faith is more important than a specific answer to prayer.

Luke spends much of his time with his best friend, Chewbacca (“Chewy”), a stray yellow cat that lives in the park across the street. There they listen for mocking ghosts who speak as the wind blows through the treetops, ghosts who accuse Luke of being stupid and worthless. Wanting to be a writer, Luke cannot write of his own painful real world but struggles to write a story about Hans, the greatest kid in the world, who begins a quest to seek help from a great king. This make-believe story is interwoven throughout the novel.

“The reader is invited to join Luke on this journey, and learn as he does, that God does not speak words to our ears but rather whispers truth to our hearts,” said Barnes.

“Whispered to the Heart” inspires the reader, no matter what age, to keep listening for that still, small voice that whispers to their searching heart.

“Whispered to the Heart” is available to purchase on www.Amazon.com and www.BarnesandNobles.com.
