Abuse of Power and Immorality of Coca-Cola Board Member Sam Nunn Exposed

Feb. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- New York City -- The Campaign to Stop Killer Coke (www.KillerCoke.org) today released the first of a series of reports under the title, "Coca-Cola's Board of Directors: A Legacy of Shame".

Part 1 focuses on Coca-Cola board member Sam Nunn, former U.S. Senator from Georgia. The report highlights Nunn's open bigotry against the LGBT community while serving as chairman of the Armed Services Committee, which led to "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

It describes how he has raked in millions of dollars while serving as a board member for The Coca-Cola Company, Chevron, Dell, and General Electric where he has played a major role in supporting company policies that have led to catastrophic human rights and environmental abuses.

In his role as chairman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, on whose board Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent and former Coca-Cola CEO Neville Isdell sit, Nunn has partnered with the Western Hemispheric Institute for Security Cooperation/School of the Americas also known as the School of the Assassins. The school in Fort Benning, Georgia trains Latin American soldiers. It is synonymous with torture and military repression around the world. Hundreds of thousands, according to SOA Watch, have been tortured, raped, murdered and "disappeared" by those trained at the SOA.

The law firm, King & Spaulding, where he was a partner and where he maintains an office, is notorious as a union buster. According to Ray Rogers, director of the Campaign to Stop Killer Coke, "Sam Nunn fits in well as a top policymaker for The Coca-Cola Company which operates like a criminal syndicate with impunity."
