-- Photo Data / JD Photo-Tools have introduced a new finishing style to their existing photomask products range. After demand from existing customers, the company has developed an application for applying a white polymer coating to both the normally clear glass and film polyester substrates. The new white polymer coating can be applied to the whole range of the companies photomask products after the imaging stage, and is an ideal application for Automated Optical Recognition systems and Camera Vision Inspection.
Development of new products and services has always been a key part of the company’s philosophy, and has seen the demand for these types of application grow over the past few months. Due partly to this customer demand, the company set about formulating a product application that would not only coat both glass and film respectively, but one that would not crack or peel even when the films were bent and stressed.

The products are primarily used for optical targets in vision systems – anywhere where a camera needs to find, focus and position upon fiducials or patterns on a machine bed. Most applications are used in configuring and calibrating flatbed machines using camera alignment, but the applications are not limited to just that purpose – the films and glass photomasks have been used in a wide variety of fields, including solar cell production, machine vision calibration and have even been used extensively in digital camera calibration for one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world.”
