Write to Sell: One Self-Publisher Outlines 3 Things You Need to Be Successful

A self-published author of 50 ebooks explains three essentials needed in order to be successful writing and selling ebooks online.
Feb. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Mega sites like Amazon and Barnes and Noble have made it easy for wannabe authors to go the self-publishing route. And, not only because of the money – although that certainly has been nice because with Amazon, for example, you get to keep up to 70% of your royalties in certain cases.

Many self-published authors are finding sudden riches and the proof is easy to find, eg, the Guardian.uk.com article, “Self-published ebook author becomes Amazon's top seller”, which tells the story of an ebook author who “suddenly” decided to start writing fiction when he turned 30, and not even a year later had sold over a quarter of a million copies on Amazon.

Yuwanda Black, who started self-publishing ebooks before the “Amazon” revolution began (in 2004), and has gone on to publish 50 ebooks on the megasite says, many wannabe authors don’t realize how lucrative self-publishing can be.

Ms. Black stresses that self-publishing is by no means an instant road to riches. The three things she advises anyone who wants to “write to sell” to do are to: (i) create a writing schedule; (ii) time block your days; and (iii) have a plan for marketing ebooks you write.

While these don’t guarantee self-publishing success, they exponentially increase it says the prolific self-publisher.
